We are Family Canada has recently onboarded the Canadian Soccer Association as a new client. Working in partnership with its members (affiliated with both FIFA, The Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (Concacaf) and the Canadian Olympic Committee), We are Family Canada will help promote the growth and development of the sport nationally by developing three age-segmented educational booklets for in-school use as well as online options and community engagement from the Canada Soccer site.

Created in English, French, Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Punjabi, and sitting alongside an Indigenous program, focused on educational content from Indigenous perspectives, cultural practices, representation and language revitalization, the contents will be soccer-focussed and espouse the virtues of nutrition, fitness, fair-play and goal-setting, as well as promoting objectives of the CSAI (Community Sport For All Initiative), which aims to remove the barriers to sport and increase participation and retention rates for newcomers to Canada and underrepresented groups.

Soccer is the largest participatory sport in Canada and the fastest growing sport in the country; and with the FIFA World Cup match coming to Canada for the second time (the first being the hugely successful Women’s World Cup in 2015), there are ambitions to build of this momentum right into the 2026 World Cup.
